Sister Louise Marie named first Francesconi Award of Integrity recipient

Ursuline Sister Louise Marie Willenbrink was honored with the first Francesconi Award of Integrity, announced in front of all Ursuline Campus Schools (UCS) employees during the annual Campus Commissioning service in August.

The award will be given annually at the commissioning service to one UCS employee who has contributed significantly to the UCS and/or Louisville community and enriches the lives of those around him/her by living the mission of UCS. The recipient's integrity should be demonstrated through the daily interaction with others, and brings distinction not only to his/her campus entity, but the entire UCS community, as well. UCS Administration and the Board of Trustees named the award after former UCS president Charlie Francesconi.

Sister Louise Marie is a 1952 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy (SHA), a former principal of Angela Merici High School, a former SHA principal (for 10 years), and is currently a senior counselor at SHA. Her colleague and nominator wrote, "After leaving the position of [SHA] principal, she has served as a senior counselor under four principals. Her relationship to these principals has always been one of support and encouragement. She has been a willing sounding board when needed by faculty or administration. She honors these confidences with the utmost respect and confidentiality. … She is totally dedicated to the good of the students."

As award winner, Sr. Louise Marie will receive a $500 check, and her name will be listed on a Francesconi Award of Integrity plaque to be hung this year at SHA.
