Marian Home is the licensed health care facility of the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville. As such, it is home to many of our retired and infirm sisters.

CURRENT NEWS!

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (May 5, 2008) - Sacred Heart Academy’s Spanish Club visited Marian Home for a fiesta and a history lesson. Nearly two dozen students decorated the solarium and made cupcakes and brownies for their Cinco de Mayo party with Marian Home residents. They also took time out for some traditional arts and crafts.

Sacred Heart Academy's Spanish Club hosted the Cinco de Mayo party

With their teacher, Marie Griffin, leading them, the SHA students helped residents craft Mexican flowers out of five sheets of paper and a small piece of wire. Then, students and residents did their best to win at a Cinco de Mayo version of bingo.

These girls know their Spanish. More than half have been studying the language since they were in kindergarten!

Thanking the Marian Home Fund Donors:

Enjoying the Food -
On February 20th, we honored the donors who've brought us within reach of our goal with an All American Celebration. Falling in the same week as President's Day, we decided to have an old fashioned picnic.

How Your Donations Help:
Last year's Marian Home Annual Fund paid for an ultrasound machine for physical therapy, a security system, the renovation of the third floor, new kitchen equipment and a pulse oximeter among other things. Each item assists in the care of the residents.

Recognizing Those Who Are Helping:
Sister Jean Anne Zappa, President of the Ursuline Sisters, took time out to recognize those who've donated and volunteered their time on the committees to help the Marian Home residents. She acknowledged several key donors as well as those who served on the committees and helped with the food and decorations.

"We're grateful to you for your partnership with us and your friendship with us through the years," said Sister Jean Anne.

How You Can Donate:
In order for us to maintain the quality care we provide the Ursuline Sisters and lay residents, we need financial assistance from our friends and family members. Our goal was to raise $95, 000 by June 30th. We've done it! But, can we do even better than expected? That's up to you. Click here to donate to the Marian Home Annual Fund.
