Louisville
Ursuline Sisters celebrate anniversaries
LOUISVILLE,
Ky. (July 18, 2003) - For nearly 150 years, the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville
have served the community as educators, healthcare professionals, administrators,
pastoral staff and social workers. Fourteen members of the community are
celebrating religious anniversaries this July. Among them is Sister Thelma
Sheehan, who has been an Ursuline Sister for 75 years. While she retired
from her teaching ministry 23 years ago, Sister Thelma continues to serve
and exemplifies the Ursuline charism, or special gift - a contemplative
love of God and a resulting openness and eagerness to serve the needs
of others.
