Ursuline
Sisters surpass $1 million endowment goal
LOUISVILLE,
Ky., (October 13, 2003) - The Ursuline Sisters of Louisville are pleased
to announce that the Marian Home Endowment Fund has surpassed the $1 million
mark. The increase in the endowment will help the Ursuline Sisters offset
the operational costs of the licensed health care facility on the Ursuline
Campus, which has been one of their sponsored ministries since 1977.
"Our
sisters and staff are so grateful to everyone who has helped us reach
this goal," said Sister Jean Anne Zappa, president of the Ursulines
Sisters of Louisville. "With the growing cost of health care, we
are continually challenged with meeting the financial needs of Marian
Home, which cares for our infirm and retired sisters. Raising these funds
offers hope as we continue to work toward meeting operational expenses."
The
endowment campaign has been one aspect of Marian
Home's 25th anniversary fundraising campaign that was completed at
the end of October. The fundraising drive has been successful in providing
new equipment and renovations for the facility throughout the past year.
