LOUISVILLE, Ky., (April 10, 2003) - On April 23, the National Catholic
Educational Association will honor the Ursuline Sisters of the United
States for their commitment of 275 years to Catholic education. The
award is part of the NCEA convention's secondary schools department
convocation, which will be held in St. Louis.
Sisters
Jean Anne Zappa and Jo Ann Jansing represented the Ursuline Sisters
of Louisville at the celebration.
"The
Ursuline Sisters throughout the United States have long been known for
education," said Sister Jean Anne Zappa, president of the Ursuline
Sisters of Louisville. "In Louisville, we have been involved with
Catholic education in Louisville for 145 years. It's an incredible honor
to be recognized along with other Ursulines from all over the country."
Each
year the NCEA convocation honors those who have made significant contributions
to Catholic secondary education.
